Birth of a Service Giant

One evening, In the summer of 2006, at a large red table in Saint Petersburg, Florida, three motivated guys started Prestar Services. They began a journey that would eventually shape Florida insurance appraisal industry standards. Three owners, each excelling in a distinct field—one a business guru from JP Morgan, another a Florida Property Appraiser, and the third the head of the commercial division in a rival insurance appraisal company—converged to form Prestar Services.

They envisioned using their skills to seize fresh opportunities in the insurance appraisal industry. They felt that the rigid structures they had previously worked within had stifled their creative potential. They wanted to apply their talents and skills in a way that would not only challenge them but also allow room for exponential growth while providing a badly needed service to insurers, commercial property organizations, and HOAs in the state.

The trio used their savings to set up shop in a modest Saint Petersburg office. The beginning was as tough as expected, with grueling work days and sleepless nights. Their first break came in the form of one single call from an insurance agent who needed an insurance appraisal as soon as possible. The Prestar team jumped at the chance and impressed the agent. Word spread quickly by the surprised agent, who told many about the Prestar’s exceptional service. Quickly, more contracts started rolling in.

Prestar became known for quality, accuracy, and customer service that the field had been lacking. More than a decade and a half later, Prestar has assisted nearly 6,500 customers to gain not only the data they needed, but also peace of mind.
